A review of the highly successful Pinmar Golf 2016

NEWSFEED

Thank you to all involved in the 28th Pinmar Golf for your great support and participation and also for your very kind response – we have had dozens of positive emails which make all the effort very worthwhile.

The final scores are available here, and many congratulations to M.Y. Zenobia on winning the Pinmar Trophy for the first time and also to all the other winners listed here.

This year’s event had 320 players and collectively all of you, along with your friends and guests and our wonderful sponsors and hard-working volunteers, raised a magnificent figure of €81,000 for the Pinmar Golf Charity Fund which is a new record and takes our total over our 28 years to €843,000.

The hire of buggies, golf clubs and trolleys, along with the bars on the course and on the terrace and the lunch in the clubhouse, helped to raise nearly €25k over the two days. And this figure included the windfall from the buggies which, due to the heavy rain just before the event, we were unable to use so, once again a very big thank you to Sturge, our loyal buggy sponsors who had already paid for them, and to all the players who had rented them – as always not one person asked for their money back.

The brilliant teams selling raffle tickets over all three days (the Superyacht Charities at the golf course and the Pinmar Team at the dinner) raised a very impressive €18,600. Huge thanks to you all for buying so many tickets and also to everyone who bid so generously in the silent auction (organised as usual by James Marsden of Impulse Decisions) and the live auction (with prizes generously donated by Adaris Global, GAC Superyacht Services and Nicky Clarke). Special thanks to Jotun for a very generous donation of €10,000 and to Alan Dale of Burgess and the International Yacht Brokers Charity Golfers Association who once again very kindly decided to add their total of €5,220 to our fund.

The funds will be shared across a wide range of causes both here and abroad including: Joves Navegants, Handisports, Tyume Valley Schools, Allen Graham 4 Kidz, Sail 4 Cancer, Serve-on, Royal National Lifeboat Institution and ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation Inc – Philippines.

So thank you again to all our golfers, guests, organizers and volunteers for your continued support and generosity and to all our Birdie, Eagle, Albatross and Condor sponsors without whom the Pinmar Golf would simply not exist.

The Pinmar Golf Tournament 2017 will take place on 19th – 21st October.
